In this episode of Home Trends with Ken, I discuss how to Spruce Your Home Up to Increase Your Curb Appeal this Spring! Click on the link to watch the video. The Top 3 Tips are also summarized below.
Tip 1: Refresh the Door.
Give your front door a fresh coat of paint or consider replacing the door if needed. Use a door color that contrasts with the color of the house.
Here’s one example from one of my clients who selected a bright red door color to contrast nicely with the brick on the house, giving the entry a real pop.
According to HGTV, updating your front door can have up to a 95.5% return on your investment.
Tip 2, Spruce Up Your Entry.
-Give your home’s exterior surfaces a good wash down.
-Splurge for a new doormat. For a customized look, you can order a doormat that has your house number, family name, or initials.
-Strategically place some decorative pots with fresh plants.
Tip 3: Clean Up the Lawn.
-Pick up yard debris that has fallen over winter.
-Get your flower beds in order, refreshing the mulch. Make sure to add some flowers for a pop of color.
-Don’t forget to trim back overgrown hedges
Remember, Front Door Magazine estimates that the return on your investment for landscaping projects is 100%!
If you follow these suggestions, you’ll have a more attractive and inviting house. And, if you are selling, these projects will make your home more welcoming for potential buyers.
